Family Meetings

Family Meeting is a time when all family members get together to share information and make decisions.

 

Sharing Information:

  • Schedules

    • Coordinate schedules for the week

    • Ask planning questions such as supplies or transportation needs

  • Praise

    • Share an accomplishment you observed for each of your kids! This is a great time to show approval for grades, being trustworthy, etc.

  • The important things

    • Provides an opportunity to share information about what is going on.

Expressing Feelings Appropriately

Use this chart as a visual for kids to practice expressing how they feel and why. Start by using this neutral moments to teach the skill of expressing feelings appropriately. Once your child knows how to express themselves calmly and effectively when calm, you can then introduce this chart in moments of difficulty. This chart can help you as the parent understand how your child is feeling and gives your child an opportunity to connect with you.
